Phenikaa University welcomes Mexican students to the Mexico - Vietnam Student Exchange Forum

On July 18, 2023, a cultural exchange event was held at Phenikaa University, facilitating interaction between students from Phenikaa University and Tec De Monterrey University (Mexico). The primary objective of this exchange was to provide Phenikaa students with opportunities to engage with Mexican culture, enhance their foreign language communication skills, and develop professional competence by exchanging knowledge in the field of Economy - Business.

The aforementioned interaction occurred with the intention of fostering an environment conducive to the acquisition and dissemination of economic information among students from the Faculty of Economics - Business and the School of International Education, as well as students enrolled in the International Business Leadership Program (PLEI). During this discussion, participants from both sides used a pragmatic and innovative approach towards learning methodologies in the emerging economic domain. Additionally, they emphasized the need of fostering students' capacity to integrate and enhance their leadership skills within the business milieu.

The conference witnessed the presence of several representatives from Phenikaa University, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, who serves as the Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business. Additionally, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dinh, the Acting Head of the External Cooperation Department, Dr. Diem Thi Thanh Hai, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Ngo Vi Dung, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Dong Xuan Dam, the Director of the School of International Education, and Mr. Nguyen Thai Ha, the Vice President of the School of International Education, were also in attendance. Furthermore, students from the Faculty of Economics - Business and the School of International Education were present at the event.

The Mexican side was graced by the presence of Mr. Iván Antonino Sosa Espinosa, who serves as the Head of the Economics and Cooperation Department at the Mexican Embassy in Vietnam. Additionally, Mr. Bernardo Alanis Bernal, a representative from Tec De Monterrey University, along with other distinguished students from the same institution, were also in attendance.

Commencing the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University, presented the opening address, extending a warm welcome and offering congratulations on the commencement of this auspicious event. During the address, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa said that this visit serves as a means to confirm the robust bilateral connection between Mexico and Vietnam. The individual expressed optimism that the visit will facilitate the establishment of a novel avenue for collaboration and interchange between the respective colleges, as well as between the two nations at large.

Additionally, they briefly shared their thoughts on the proceedings of the day.

During the conference, student representatives from both institutions engage in knowledge-sharing workshops that provide an overview of the economy and the cooperative connection between Vietnam and Mexico. Additionally, they discuss investment potential via exchange of ideas. 

In adherence to the conference's emphasis on fostering a conducive environment for active engagement and analytical thought, the delegation from Tec De Monterrey University proceeded to participate in the cultural and culinary exchange centered on Vietnamese traditions. This exchange was facilitated under the guidance of Dr. Tran Duc Thanh, who holds the esteemed position of Head of the Hospitality Department. The coordination and organization of the exchange program were facilitated by the involvement of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Tourism. In this particular location, students from two colleges collaborated to construct aesthetically pleasing and profound recollections. In addition, during the afternoon session of the aforementioned event, students from Tec De Monterrey University were afforded the privilege of partaking in a campus tour, graciously provided by Phenikaa University as a gesture of welcome. 

PLEI - Outstanding Economic Organization for Students of Tec De Monterrey University 

It has been established that a cohort of Mexican students hailing from Tec De Monterrey University are actively involved in the PLEI (International Business Leadership Program). The organization known as PLEI was founded in the year 1995 by a group of exceptional students from Tec De Monterrey University.

The establishment of this organization was driven by the objective of facilitating market entry for Mexican multinational corporations in five distinct areas, namely Asia, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, South America, and South Africa. The primary objective of PLEI is to revolutionize the approach to economics education by fostering a practical and innovative learning environment. Simultaneously, PLEI aims to cultivate students' capacity for leadership within the realm of business.

Annually, the organization known as PLEI will orchestrate student exchange initiatives within five designated locations, strategically chosen to facilitate the expansion of its market. The projected itinerary for the PLEI program in 2023 encompasses six nations situated in Southeast Asia, namely Singapore, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. 

Following the recent trips, it is anticipated that the delegates from both colleges have acquired positive experiences and fostered a heightened comprehension of each other's cultural backgrounds. This visit serves as both the basis and the catalyst for fostering enhanced collaboration and interactions between two institutions, as well as between the nations of Vietnam and Mexico. Phenikaa University always anticipates forthcoming prospects to engage in firsthand encounters with Mexican culture.
